I have decided to clutter up the interwebs with a few custom widgets for anyone who wants them. Because clearly, what the world really needs is more code to copy and paste into websites.
Before you go grabbing them, a quick word on the "service level agreement" here: there isn't one. These are free, they are mine, and they come with absolutely zero warranty. If you drop them into your site and your screen explodes, or the layout decides to do an interpretive dance, that is on you. They either work, or they don't. Think of them like a questionable takeaway - sometimes it is exactly what you need, other times, well, you know.
You can find all the widgets ready for you to copy by clicking on that menu thingy at the top of the page. Here is the current lineup of digital ornaments:
Tidal Tracker: The Tide Clock
If you have ever stared at a mechanical tide clock and thought, "I want that, but digital, and I want to spend my weekends messing with UTC timestamps," then this is for you.
It tracks the M2 lunar tidal constituent - because why keep things simple? calculating exactly where the tide is in its 44,714-second cycle. You will need to periodically update the syncHighTide variable using data from the UK Hydrographic Office to keep it accurate.
It is a bit like looking after a pet, except the pet is a mathematical function that ignores your existence.
Patience Engine: Ethereum Tracker
This is my attempt to stop people (including myself) from checking the price of Ethereum every ten minutes. It is a privacy-first, noise-cancelling tool. It pulls the last 100 weeks of data, calculates a 14-week RSI, and does it all in your browser without any tracking cookies or API key nonsense.
The best part? You can enable a "Noise Filter" that hides the actual price. It tells you if you are in a "Value" zone or just wasting your time. It is designed to keep you from panic-selling during your morning coffee.
Trend Engine: The Automated Dashboard
If the Patience Engine is for sitting on your hands, the Trend Engine is for actually looking at the charts - but without the migraine. It crunches the 20-period SMA, the 14-day RSI, and the MACD to give you a single percentage score for where the asset is likely heading over the next two weeks.
It highlights accumulation flags when the RSI drops below 35 and distribution warnings when it hits 75. It is essentially a dashboard for people who want to look like they are doing complex technical analysis while actually just glancing at a few simple colours.
What is next?
As for more widgets, I will add more when I can be bothered. I have a few half-baked ideas floating around in my head, but they will be released to the wild only when the mood strikes me or when I find the time between shifts and walking the dog. Check back occasionally if you are that way inclined.
Feel free to grab the code and give them a go. If they break your site, at least you have a good story to tell. If they work, well, maybe you should buy me a coffee sometime.
